Our story
Made with Grá in Dublin
We're Ruth and Carlos, a Spanish couple who traded the sun for the rain when we moved to Dublin in 2019. We fell for Ireland pretty fast: the landscapes, the people, the way the country feels completely different every few miles.
Grá is the Irish word for love, and it's what got us started. We wanted to bring a piece of Ireland home, and figured others might too. Then people started asking for their own places: the street where they met, the town they grew up in, the house they just bought. So we built a way for anyone to design one.
How a map is made
- You design itIn our online designer you pick any place in the world, frame the area, add your title and up to three hearts, stars or pins, and see the exact 3D model before you order.
- We check it by handEvery design is looked over by one of us before it goes near a printer. If something will not print well, we fix it or email you.
- We print itThe map is 3D printed layer by layer in our Dublin 15 workshop, in black and white PLA bioplastic, with the real coordinates of the place under the title.
- We frame and post itWe frame it by hand and post it with An Post. Custom maps go out within 4 to 6 working days, and we never put prices in the parcel.
